TenkaCrypt

Encrypt an entire folder with one password. Free, offline, and protected with AES-256-GCM.

Download free How it works

Strong encryption, without the clutter

Point TenkaCrypt at a folder, pick a password, and every file inside is encrypted and renamed. Decrypt with the same password to get everything back.

One password, whole folder

Every file — subfolders included — is encrypted with the same password. File names are hidden too.

AES-256-GCM

Authenticated encryption. A wrong password or a damaged file is refused, and large files are streamed in chunks.

Offline and free

No account, no cloud, no telemetry, no limits. Your password and your files never leave your PC.

The installer is unsigned, so Windows SmartScreen may warn on first launch. Previously called File Scrambler — old encrypted files still work.

How it works

  1. Choose a folder and a password. Optionally include subfolders or limit file types.
  2. Click “Encrypt all”. Every file is encrypted and renamed to a random name.
  3. Decrypt later with the same password. The original names and contents come back.
There is no password recovery. TenkaCrypt has no backdoor and no recovery key. If you forget the password, the data cannot be recovered. Keep the password and a backup of your files somewhere safe.
